After the excellent "Odd Fellows Rest" comes "Equilibrium" from sludge/doom mongers Crowbar. The music is still the same Sabbath inspired slow doom madness with the melody that was first touched upon on "Odd Fellows Rest" re-surfacing here in small bursts.

The album kicks off with "I Feel The Burning Sun." A strong opener that has a sing a long feel to it inspite of being a very heavy song. The title song, "Glass Full Of Liquid Pain" and "Command Of Myself" follow each other with "Glass Full Of Liquid Pain" standing out with its Sabbath inspired sludge and groove. It is however the song in the middle of the album "To Touch The Hand Of God" that is the show stealer on "Equilibrium." A sparse piano led ballad with Kirk Windstein's vocals doing an excellent job of controlling the sound, "To Touch The Hand Of God" is the center of this album. The first half of the album comes across as being oppressive and claustrophobic before "To Touch The Hands Of God" comes along to soothe our bloodied minds. The songs after this then proceed to whip up the levels of oppressiveness to the previously mentioned high levels before album closer "Dream Weaver" ends things off on a slightly mellow note.

In the end, "Equilibrium" is not as good as "Odd Fellows Rest" and I personally lost interest by the time the 9th song, "Things You Can't Understand" had come around. Still, the album is worth listening to simply for the immense "To Touch The Hand Of God."
