I'm a fan of old school progressive rock,
the big bands like King Crimson, Genesis, ELP, Yes, Camel etc., and
numerous other brilliant bands that released epic and at times
self-indulgent works throughout that period starting late 60s till
prog rock's fall by the end of 70s. A lot of them disbanded and some
went total AOR in the 80s plus a new wave of bands starting to play metal with
these influences. Later on in the 90s, bands spearheaded by Spock's
Beard, The Flower Kings and Porcupine Tree revived the old genre from
the stereotypes that Dream Theater and the other modern compressed-sounding
prog metal clones set.
With that annoying back story out of our way, let us get to the fucking point because we've discovered a new band doing the good shit, shall we?
Ladies and gentlemen, all the way from Russia, presenting... Apple Pie with their debut album,
Crossroad.
