The Final Sign of Evil contains re-recorded songs from the first EP, In the Sign of Evil and seven never-before-heard tracks, all of which were originally written for ItSoE, but were never released. They also managed to bring together the original line-up, as on the EP, for this one.

It's a shame a lot of these tracks were never released when they were supposed to. There are a loads of potential black/thrash classics in here (Hatred of the Gods, Bloody Corpse, Where Angels Die), which could be put right up there along with "Witching Hour", "In Conspiracy with Satan" and ofcourse, "Outbreak of Evil".

The re-recorded songs from the original EP falls back in comparison to the energy and aggression of the original versions, but nonetheless, the unreleased songs are well worth giving a few spins.

Sodom are miles ahead of most of the thrash metal bands from the good times, who are desperately trying to fit their fat asses into that dusty old Tank shirt and those worn out jeans they bought when they were 15 and trying to milk out a few extra bucks by releasing shitty albums. All thanks to the recent surge in band re-unions.
