Is this a proprietary USB port on the Sony? Otherwise, wouldn't the one for your Transcend player work here too?

Yeah, it's a proprietary USB port. I wouldn't have to go through this crap otherwise no?

I have the thing connected to my PC and my 10-year old Amp+Speakers. Aim to get a wireless KB+Mouse soon so I can get some couch gaming on it.

Do you even have your own room? Or is this in the living room? Nice score anyway - how much?

Samsung Q1 Available at a very reasonable 4.4K at Vijay Sales Mumbai, this player has exceptionally good sound - especially if paired with Sennheiser in-ear buds, is almost infinitely configurable and also has a very good TXT file reader. Also 8 GB capacity and fairly decent battery life. They've thrown in a few games and widgets and you can download/buy more from Samsung's emodio site but I haven't tried that and so no comments. The touchpad though is a HUGE pain in the ass and its a struggle to get it to do what you want it to do. It takes a LOT of getting used to. That's the only caveat. Else this is a really sweet deal.

My dad uses one of these. I couldn't get it to sync music properly. All the song titles would display in Chinese. It was only after i had to manually refresh all ID tags using the crappy Samsung EmoDio software that things would work fine. Plus, the touchpad is a huge bitch.

Really? That's odd. I had a Samsung quite a while back and I remember it being one of the best mp3 players I've ever used. The sound quality was almost on par with the fantastic Sony that I currently have and the display was terrific. The navigation was easy as fuck to figure out and on the whole, I loved it. Would still have it if some asshole hadn't decided to flick it from me :(

I indulged in some Tera-rism. Got meself a shiny new 1 TB HDD. Whoo!

However, the piece de resistance, non-existent ladies and somewhat-unruly denizens of kvltsite, is this beauty right here:

For those inclined as much, specs here: Face meltage

Picked it up on Monday. It's a real pleasure to play, although the Jumbo frets take some getting used to. The Kahler tremolo can handle a tremendous amount of abuse (which is to be expected. It IS a signature series from KFK!) and the pups sound fucking beautiful. :D
