Congress adopts Jai Ho as election song

Sadly for them it wasn't some Bollywood production ditty they could use without the hassle of paying or acquiring rights.

India's governing Congress party has acquired the rights to Jai Ho - the Oscar-winning song from the movie Slumdog Millionaire.

Party officials say the song will be used as part of the election campaign to publicise Congress achievements.

I can't stand Jai Ho. Maybe it's the fact that the Academy decided to nominate not one, but two, songs from Slumdog Millionaire for Best Song, while not even giving a fucking nomination for Springsteen's song The Wrestler, which WON the Golden Globe.

That's straight up bullshit.
