Great review. The movie sounds pretty shitty. Good thing I gave it a miss when it was in theaters here.

I think you may have given it a thadiyan too many.

i'm really curious to know if there is such a thing as the movie being better than the book in case of adaptations.

^ There are quite a few actually. 2 off the top of my head -

The Godfather films are way better than the book IMO.
Orson Welles' adaptation of Kafka's The Trial.
