This thread discusses the Content article: Iota - Tales
That one listen at your place was terrific. Especially that 20 minute jam thing and the stuff with the blues harp. Need to borrow this from you.

Nice scene. Let me know if you get an invite to that elitist music site, too.

An absolute stoner/doom masterpiece, but how come the band isn't on MA?

Not big enough, I suppose. One of us could do the honours.

I've seen this twice in two days. We pick out a great new album and write a full blown review, and if you want to sample it, go to myspace, or go check them out on torrents/rapidshare if you prefer. And you can also check out their label and their websites. Where does something like Metal-Archive fit it? It's a good source of information, but aren't we giving it way more importance than it deserves?

It's just easier through MA. Instead of using Google, you can just use MA to get whatever websites concerning the band you require.

I know you all say that but it's not really right. See for yourself, just search for any band name in your google bar in firefox, it lists all the required DIRECT links including myspace, youtube, wikipedia and metal-archives. Isn't that easier because it involves fewer steps? Inspite of being a web-nerd, I fail to understand something like this particular pattern. Are we also going to complain that Jorn's wiki entry doesn't mention the leak date of his new album, because it's, you know, easier to just see it there instead of going to The Pirate Bay?
Agreed that it's a useful aggregator for metal, but my gripe about it being given too much importance is still valid. If it works for you, it's really cool - but when you guys wonder about a band not having an entry, you somehow just make it sound like it's a validation of some sorts for the band's greatness. And that's what I'm getting at.

Naw. It's just that with all the completely shitty and worthless bands up on MA one would think (metal) bands getting fine reviews here would definitely be featured.

I was blown away by this disc. I thought it was one of the few great epic stoner concept albums.
