This band is mad.

Cursorily heard the new Down - Am not particularly thrilled with Anselmo's vocals but the rest of it is alright if not a particularly life-altering experience. Heard the first track from the new Centurions Ghost and wow! if the rest of this is as good, this is going to be a LOT of fun. In a doomy dirgelike manner of course.

Other stuff I heard was the the first two CDs of the fabulously gloomy and depressing The Inmost Light trilogy by Current 93. It's pretty dire ambient droning occasionally acoustic stuff with David Tibet shrieking hysterically about his loss of faith, loss of will to live, loss of sanity etc. Great if you are in the mood.

Van der graaf generator's pawn hearts is on full blast. One of the best prog albums ever released. Peter Hammill owns \m/

This album is terrific. Noisy chaotic grindcore but with a few modern elemants thrown in. kickass!

Goatwhore - A Haunting Curse
A NOLA all star band, this album took goatwhore to a new level. Shedding most of the sludge for a focussed black/death attack, the Haunting Curse was one of the most impressive albums of 2006.

Been playing the Blotted Science and Amoral a lot. I'd liked Amoral a little more if it was a little more twisted and dissonant. Still excellent. The Blotted Science on the first listen is fucking mindboggling. Also the hidden hand, review is in my head, will upload it to the site today.
