You liked it enough to buy it? I thought it fell a bit flat after a couple of listens.

Corpus Mortale are a poor man's Iniquity, having members from that band too. I haven't heard this one yet (it's been out for two years already), but 'With Lewd Demeanor' is a very classy and smooth Death Metal record.
Aah, I'll check them out. A poor man's Iniquity still sounds worth a shot.
Dude, I've been hyping up Chapters Of Repugnance every chance I get. I liked Psalms for what it was but I was mostly apathetic towards it. Liked it on occasions, couldn't stand it on others. This thing though...it's addictive. There's a review on Choksi's site which describes it beautifully. Inspite of the slams and breakdowns, which are done very well here to be honest, and the modern br00tality aspect, it sinks its teeth into you like any record from the early 90s would. And since it's so short, it is made to order for repeat listens. I like it, even love it..I'm not so sure about you, knowing your kvlt trackrecord. :P
Haha, I like a few modern DM bands man. I thought Psalms.. was quite terrific, really. I mean, I'm normally not too big on the soulless br00talz and sickzz sort of death metal (Fuck you Unique Leader. FUCK.YOU.), whose sole aim seems to be to cram as many notes as possible in a 3 minute span, with a breakdown thrown in for effect (I know we disagree about Decrepit Birth, haha!)but I love the RIFF driven bands like Unmerciful (Seriously, what the fuck are those guys upto? Unmercifully Beaten was such a fucking INSANE album), Defeated Sanity and Azarath (who, sadly, have lost it now. Praise the Beast was complete bullshit).

Winds - The Imaginary Direction of Time
Winger - IV
Paul Di'Anno - The Living Dead
Blood from the Soul - To Spite the Gland That Breeds: bought at KC's awesomeass CD sale, the best part of the risible Meat Fest. This is a very fucking good album with Lou Koller yelling over some very catchy, fiercely heavy sludgy riffs.

I'm loath to call it by what the sleeve says so I'll just say I got Mark Shelton's The Circus Maximus finally! One of the truly great, unappreciated heavy metal records of all time this, including in equal parts unhinged and soulful vocal performances by Cross/Brown, and some of the most evocative AND maniacal tunes the Shark's ever penned. I kept this on loop through the day today and I kept thinking to myself: "has there really been a more emotive yet balls-out ballad written than 'She's Fading'?"
