Hawkwind Triad - US Christmas/Harvestman/Minsk Stunning Hawkwind tribute with Minsk, Steve Von Till's Harvestman project and some band called US Christmas doing 3-4 Hawkwind songs each. Minsk's medley of Assault and Battery and Golden Void and the mostly acoustic Children of the Sun are fantastic while Harvestman just turns these songs into huge lumbering behemoths. US Christmas I've never heard before but they make their 4 songs sound like early Monster Magnet which isn't a bad thing but the least inventive of the bands on this 3 way split.
Across Tundras - Old World Wanderer This is the band's best album yet. Sprawling jams with an awesome production and the songs actually stick in my head after just one listen. Also, their first album that didn't become background music after the first 2-3 songs.

Have been digging out a lot of my OCDs that I haven't listened to in a while. Being down with a slipped disc (hah!)and a severe case of gastroenteritis left me with pretty much nothing to do except read and listen an assload of music. Awesome!

@Ravi - I finally got around to the Steve Hackett albums and umm, is Highly Strung not recommended for a first taste of his work? It kinda got boring by the 3rd song. I got Defector lined up so I'm hoping this gets better.

Yeah it takes a while to get into. Please Don't Touch is easily a better first listen.
