Would just like to mention that Beach didn't comment on Metallica or their music. He was strictly talking about how good Kirk Hammett was at guitar. And seriously, Beach is a waaaaay better guitarist. Heck, most guitarists are better than Hammett.

And this is not me hating on Metallica. I love Metallica. And there are those that say Lars sucks. I don't think he does. I think it's stupid when people start saying he's the best drummer evaarrr, but he's average. Not Hammett though. Hammett just sucks. His vibrato DOES sound like a beginner. Beach is 100% right.

Haha yeah. Suresh will back me on this one. At a certain point, we believed all that music fans in Bangalore EVER talked about was vibrato. Maybe our sample was skewed by the fact that we hung out with olo a lot but there you go.

One last comment and I'm done with this thread. GoreD: When I go to see an international band (especially a former favourite like Megadeth who I've heard good bootleg live recordings of), I expect them to play their material at least as well as if not significantly better than their best local cover band. If I am just going to stand around bombed out of my skull, I can do that just as well staring at videos on youtube at home and not pay an assload of money by way of airfare to say nothing of the ticket prices. All the best bands I've seen live: Anthrax with Joe Belladona, Freak Kitchen, Enslaved, Cannibal Corpse etc give you a GREAT kick to the gut live experience that is awesome taken for what it is and which stands up to relentless analysis (which I am not too big a fan of, anyway). Which is why I appreciate and will return to see a band like Iron Maiden who in spite of DNA's attempts to rape them on sound, put up a great show every time I've seen them. With Megadeth I could barely hear the band because the sound was way too low and underpowered and I didn't care much for what I could hear.

Yeah, I was joking about that but now that you mention it I think the first time I heard the term vibrato in real life was from olo only. When he was talking about either Schenker or Uli John Roth. Forgot the details though.
