Megadeth - Endgame
I'm late to the party, but holy shit. Where the FUCK did this come from? This is some inspired shit from Mustaine. I didn't know he had it in him. Looks like the tin foil hat he's been wearing has done some good for him creatively.
Chris Broderick's mindless wankery is the only disappointing aspect about this otherwise excellent album. If ol' Marty Friedman was on this album, I'd put this album on par with their '80s discography.

Was listening to this upcoming release by the band called Fallen Martyr. Super talented death thrash type stuff with both growls and epic type singing. Lots of shred guitars as well. Sounds pretty good so far.
Also been listening to the new Abramis Brama, Krallice etc

Top of the year to all...
Over the past few days:
The Devin Townsend Project: Ki & Addicted - I preferred Ki over Addicted. Will need to give both another listen to let them sink in.
Municipal Waste: Massive Aggressive - This is punk on steroids for most parts. A short, fun listen
Gorod: Process of a New Decline - Loved the guitar work on this one. Not a fan of the vocals
Iron Maiden: The Best of the Beast - Needless to say, it keeps coming back. BTW, apparently, they've got 8 tracks fleshed out, and a couple more to go before they step in to the studio. Heard they're gonna be recording in Paris. Hopefully, they record in the AMOLAD manner.

Heard Of Doom and Death by Savage Circus properly and pronounce this a huge disappointment. The songwriting is just not as tight and fun as the debut and the drumming flat out sucks after Thomen's relentless flailing about. This one's going to have to go.
School's Out What a classic album. Not a clunker on this start to finish. Absolute brilliance.
Love 2 - Air: The band surpasses itself with its mellow mixture of Floyd, 90s electronic sounds and 80s pop on this one. Great early morning/travel music.

Heard OHMphrey, the collaboration between OHM: and Umphrey's McGee. Haven't heard the latter band, so I can only compare it against OHM: at the moment. At first listen, I sort of miss Baker's drumming - this has a more laidback jam feel, with more emphasis on holding down a groove and doing stuff on top of that.

Oh hahaha. I initially read that as more laidback than 'Om' and thought the only thing that can possibly be that is not playing anything at all.

Why is no one talking of the new Ihsahn yet? New album After is fantastic. The Spiral Architect rhythm section seems to have a lot more freedom and is playing some brilliant shit while Ihsahn's songwriting chops have gotten even better. There's also a full time saxophonist in the band and it's integrated really nicely into the music. Ihsahn's gone off into a slightly different direction only with the new album. Awesome stuff.
Also, Heathen's new album, Evolution of Chaos sounded pretty damn good even if having some modern groove type riffing now and then but overall I think this will be right up there with the Sacrifice in terms of thrash metal comebacks. Been listening to these two albums for most of the last week.

Looking forward to Ihsahn, Lars is on bass, so it should be good.
Anyone checked out Weekend Nachos?
